About Springfield, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Springfield is a Kentucky city located in Washington County, and it also serves as the county seat. In 2010, the population had surpassed 2,500. Founded and established in 1793, it is thought that the community was named for the local springs that are found in the nearby area. As part of a humid subtropical climate zone, Springfield is known for snowy winters and hot summers. Spring and summer are the wettest seasons in the city.
Despite the small size of Springfield, some activities and attractions can be enjoyed here. Art enthusiasts may enjoy checking out performances at the Opera House or Central Kentucky Community Theatre. Outdoor recreational areas can be found at the Lincoln Homestead State Park, and the Maple Grove Plantation is another popular destination.
