Lawrenceburg is the county seat of Anderson County, Kentucky, and as of 2010, its population was roughly 10,500. This community was originally settled in the 1780s, and its first name was Kaufman’s Station. It was renamed in 1817 after a local tavern owner, William Lawrence, as he was one of the main developers of the community. The city consists of 3.7 square miles of total area, all of which consist of land. As part of a humid subtropical climate zone, Lawrenceburg is known for snowy winters and hot summers. Spring and summer are the wettest seasons in the city.
There are several attractions located in Lawrenceburg that may appeal to visitors and residents. The Lovers Leap Vineyards and Winery is located in this community, as is the Eagle Lake Convention Center.
